"UNTANGLE" armchair 2023
Meet UNTANGLE, an armchair woven using hand-tufting technology, offering a plush and mossy surface for you to unwind your thoughts.
Beyond its conventional seating role, UNTANGLE delivers therapeutic advantages for those in search of solace. Engaging in sensory activities such as observation and touch can alleviate anxiety, enhance concentration, promote physical awareness, and keep you rooted in the present moment.
What sets UNTANGLE apart is its modular design, allowing for versatile combinations that infuse playfulness and multifunctionality into the product.
An intriguing feature of this armchair is its cover, which ingeniously repurposes yarn leftovers gathered from various corners of Estonia.

Together as a team we collected 20kg of leftover woollen yarn all over Estonia. After sorting them by colours I hand-dyed the yarn to different black and grey colour variations. With the help of a fellow textile student India Kiisler the textile part of the armchair was tufted with a tufting gun by hand. Tailored perfectly to the size of the wooden frame.
